Water Wisdom: What Water Teaches Us About Living Our Fullest Life

Water is the Great Integrator, a connector, an agent of transformation. She is the language of our intuition and a gateway to the sacred. Each one of us is of the water: Our bodies are comprised of up to 60% water, while our hearts and minds are 73% water. As the tides move with the moon, so too do our bodies. In this inspiring keynote, Wendy Pabich shares some of the lessons she’s learned about how to live an integrated life by observing water as it moves through watersheds absorbing the signals of all it touches, of belonging as a function of our common and inherent interdependence with this lifeblood, and of honoring our mind, body, and soul in a way similar to water’s simultaneous presence as ice, water, and vapor. We all embody water and this knowledge resides inherently in each of us; it is our birthright to tap into it. Yet, in order to maximize these lessons, we must listen closely, excavate the wisdom, and allow it to guide our choices, behaviors, and emotions.

In this keynote based on her book, “Taking on Water: How One Water Expert Challenged Her Inner Hypocrite, Reduced Her Water Footprint (without Sacrificing a Toasty Shower), and Found Nirvana”, Wendy Pabich examines the profound and hidden ways water is embedded in the products and services we use every day and indirectly use to support our lifestyles. This indirect water use often goes unnoticed; yet, we each consume 25 times more water indirectly than we use directly in our homes. By looking at our own water story, and taking responsibility for our personal choices in the clothes we wear, foods we consume, and lifestyles we adopt, we each have the ability to reduce our individual water footprint and to shift our collective outcome. This presentation provides practical tips for simple changes and offers new pathways to realign our personal and collective relationship with water.
